Eight Years, Three Companies, One Apprenticeship That Started It All
9th February 2026
When Chloe began their journey at 18, they knew one thing for certain, that they wanted to keep learning.
As a hands‑on learner, Chloe White was eager to apply new knowledge directly to real scientific work. While friends at university spoke about the challenges of securing meaningful roles, the apprenticeship route offered something different, the chance to gain a degree, gain industry experience and build a professional network simultaneously.

Over the past eight years, that decision has shaped an impressive career spanning scientific roles across Pfizer, Asymchem, and now Particology. Along the way, they’ve gained a bachelors degree in Chemistry, built a strong professional network, and developed a depth of experience that many graduates struggle to access so early in their careers.
Chloe describes their apprenticeship as transformative. Coming in with little idea of what to expect, they were immediately trusted with real responsibilities, treated as a valued member of the team, and supported every step of the way. Their organisation invested time in explaining processes, nurturing their learning, and encouraging their growth. This was an experience they believe university alone could never have provided.
Now, as a Senior Scientist, Chloe is passionate about giving back. Particology hope to recruit an apprentice of their own, helping local students access alternative pathways into science and understand the breadth of opportunities in the sector. Through leadership development programmes, such as the Leadership Accelerator through RESILIENCE, Chloe is building the skills needed to mentor others ensuring they are grounded in their own development before taking on the responsibility of others.
Apprenticeships gave me real responsibility, industry experience, a professional network and a degree. This pathway built my confidence, my career, and my future.
