Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week: Empowering the Future of Healthcare and Science
13th February 2026
National Apprenticeship Week (9th - 13th February) is the perfect moment to shine a light on the organisations, employers, and apprentices who are shaping the future of our workforce.
Skills4Group are proud to play a part in that journey.
Through their specialist brands—Skills4Pharmacy, Skills4Science, and Skills4Dental—they deliver high‑quality Apprenticeships and Skills Bootcamps across the healthcare sector. Their mission is to empower the future of healthcare by delivering innovative training solutions that inspire professionals, support communities, and drive excellence across established and emerging sectors.
One of their most inspiring examples of this mission in action is the journey of Evander Jennings, a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprentice at Analysis Scientific Ltd.

Evander’s employer, Analysis Scientific Ltd, has witnessed his growth first hand. When asked about the most significant change they’ve seen, they said:
“Evander has gained so much confidence in his scientific knowledge and practice; he is now trusted to work independently within the business.
“He is starting to understand the ‘bigger picture’ of the company, showing a keen interest in quality control, assurance, and even the finances.”
“The course is incredibly well-balanced.
“It has increased his industry knowledge while giving him an appreciation for other sectors through his engagement with fellow apprentices.
“We’ve had such a positive experience with Skills4Science that we would certainly use them again for future apprentices.”
This kind of transformation is exactly why apprenticeships matter and they unlock potential, build confidence, and create pathways to long-term success.
Evander didn’t just choose a career in science; he stepped into a family legacy.
Inspired by his grandmother who was a pioneering woman who founded an independent laboratory at a time when female business owners were rare.
Traditional classrooms weren’t the right fit for him.
Evander said: “I am a hands-on learner who struggles to stay engaged all day in a classroom.
“When learning skills that I can then put into practice, I learn much better.”
He’s also learned to stay calm under pressure.
Evander added: “I no longer feel stressed or anxious when things don't go to plan. I feel like I have the skill set and knowledge to deal with issues when they arise.”
Evander’s journey has transformed uncertainty into ambition. After completing his Level 3 apprenticeship, he’s considering higher education, with a clear goal to become Managing Director of the family business and help it grow and expand.

His advice to future apprentices is simple and wise:
“Start sooner rather than later, always ask for support if needed, and enjoy the journey!”
Stories like Evander’s remind us why apprenticeships are so vital. They open doors, build confidence, and create skilled professionals who are ready to make an impact.
Skills4Group are honoured to support apprentices like Evander, and the employers who champion them, as they shape the future of healthcare, science, and beyond.
Here’s to National Apprenticeship Week, and to every apprentice taking their first step toward a brighter future.
