This one-day online course will cover the fundamentals of R as a programming language. It uses R to model data in ggplot2, including Linear Regression and non-parametric tests using data from bioprocessing operations.

This course will prepare beginners on the logic, layout and grammar of using a programming language to visualise their data and determine if it proves a hypothesis.

The course will consist of two sessions:

  • A morning session: 9:30-12.00

  • An afternoon session of Q&A: 13.00-Open ended

Learning outcomes

  • Use R Studio

  • Understand the concepts of objects and functions

  • Download a package

  • Create, theme and annotate a plot with ggplot2

  • Fit a line to a protein standard curve

  • Subset data

  • Do Nonlinear Least Squares fit
